Do I have a right to ask/know this information?

My solicitor is going on holiday soon for over 2 weeks and she hasn't confirmed if anyone will be monitoring my case whilst she's away.

I sent her an email yesterday with a few questions including asking who will be covering and she responded but didn't answer the question. I'm not sure if she missed it or just completely ignored the question on purpose.

I'm hesitant to ask again, not sure why. I don't feel like I can ask questions as I feel like I'm pestering, maybe it's a first time buyer thing. My mum said I have every right to ask but is that something my solicitor should confirm?

It's making me anxious not knowing if anyone will cover my case whilst she's off and I don't know who to contact for updates etc.

Unless you are buying endless properties at once the system will run the way it is meant to when it needs too you don't need to know who is handling what when

Enail your questions and wait

Keep pestering, only way to get them to do anything. Otherwise you end up waiting weeks for them to do anything. I had to have my house purchase go through within four weeks because it was a new build. I used to chase every week to see what was outstanding. We didn't hit the deadline in the end but it was only about 6 for the whole exchange to happen

Especially in conveyancing, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Phone if you don't get an answer.

Bullshit. Everyone knows you need to chase.

op, call her and ask, but basically the silence means no one, however you should have a contact to help.

Thank you, it's reassuring to hear that I'm not being unreasonable for asking.

She sent the enquires last week so I'm just concerned that replies (if any) might sit there whilst she's off, so it would be good to know who to contact.

I have found that the quickest way to get answers is to phone the secretary or office manager. Solicitors tend to just ignore admin questions. So my first port of call would be to find the secretary and ask them.

And of course you have a right.

If they gave you decent paperwork before you signed, holiday cover arrangements may also be stated there.
