Same day exchange and completion worries

Hi!

Can anyone shed some light/news on same day exchange and completion? Was supposed to have had weeks in between exchange and completion and suddenly it has come to needing to complete for this Friday so in 2 days due to solicitors being slow! Never have I been so stressed as this was literally the last resort I wanted after hearing horror stories!

Seems to be quite a few positive stories on same day actually when I thought it was all doom and gloom! Luckily it's just been confirmed we've somehow in 1 hour managed to go from it looking like Friday to exchanging at 4:30 today thank the lord!

I've bought five houses over the years. Four of those were exchanging and completing on the same day. Nothing ever went wrong.

However, each time it was nerve shredding so I decided never to go through it again. Last time, I exchanged 21 days before completion and it was much better as you can get on with packing without the worry. However, if it meant not losing a house I really wanted, I'd probably do it again.

Thousands of people exchange and complete on the same day but you only tend to hear the few stories when it goes wrong. I'm sure it will go fine.
