Flat leak

Hi all, it's been 6 months I been in a flat and have leaks every week due to tenants above.
Iv contacted the council on a number of occasions, and nothing has been resolved. Housing officers have visited the above tenants to explain to them how to have a bath.
She deliberately lets the bath over fill, causing the water to leak down to my flat, causing a flood.
She doesn't let the repairs guys in to have a look she shouts and says she doesn't care.
I have left an abusive relationship. What do I do. I have a 9 year old daughter. I have already put 6 xl towels and 5 bed sheets out as they were all soaked. It's effecting my mental health. What do I do.

I would make a formal complaint to your Housing Officer, its anti social behaviour

I have done that, they have closed my complaint saying they have spoken to the above tenant and it's not their responsibility as its caused by her and they cannot do anything.

Hi,

I am involved in social housing/facilties management for a living.

I would suggest you keep a record, with photographic evidence of each time you report this to your landlord. If you both share the same landlord and the landlord has not taken sufficient action despite your repair requests, I would be fairly confident to state that you could have a legal disrepair claim. This would compensate you for loss of enjoyment of your property, stress and similar as well as give the landlord a legal timeframe to remedy the issues. Hope this is of some help.

Thank you. I have put in my case to the housing Ombudsman. The leak carried on from yesterday until now still leaking the floor is flooded. The repairs guy came looked and went back did nothing. I'm fed up. May have to give the flat up, it's a shame it's the tenants above driving me out of my own home but I have no choice. My mental health is so bad right now.

If the flat continues to be flooded and The Council do nothing I suggest trying to get help from Citizens Advice and/or calling the Councils Homeless service and say you arer living in an uninhabitable property what can they do
