Storage - babyproof - kallax??

I have a 7.5 mo baby who is pulling up to stand and starting to crawl. I need storage for multiple items in daily/weekly use and am trying to work out whether i need drawers with a babyproof lock or cupboards with a babyproof lock.

Lots of people seem to have kallax but I don't see how I can make this safe and prevent my DC from pulling it out/climbing in?

You can secure Kallax to the wall, which I'd do regardless of whether or not I had children.

They'd pull stuff out though unless you had storage boxes/drawers in there.

You can get kallax inserts with doors that you can then put baby proof locks on. Just make sure whatever you get you screw it tight to a wall so it can't fall over

It's not the unit itself I was confused about - that needs to be secure like any bookcase. It's the storage baskets or boxes that go in the cubes.

If the baskets are full of toys they will be too heavy and awkward for a baby to pull out. As toddlers they usually just pull them out a bit to peek inside or get their hands down, I don't recall mine ever pulling the whole box out because of the size of the boxes they have to be slid out straight at just the right angle so a baby is not coordinated or tall enough to manage it.

Plus a young child should always be supervised so no chance of them being able to dislodge one before you could get to them.

If you are worried store books and lighter toys in the lower rows. The heavy stuff put up high out of reach. So long as the actual unit is secured to the wall as that's the main risk.
