Advice for built-in wardrobes and costs?

How much can I expect to pay for built-in wardrobes with sliding doors that also include a vanity table/section? The bedroom wall I'd like them to be fitted on is roughly 12ft long.

Also if anyone has any advice for getting them designed, made, things to avoid etc, that would also be appreciated!

Look for a local company rather than one of the big ones like Sharps or Hammonds. We visited their showrooms and weren't impressed with the quality. Drawers weren't very sturdy etc. Also got a lot of calls trying to get us to go ahead with ordering so they seemed very pushy.

Saw a local company advertised in the free local monthly newsletter so had a look at them. Build much better quality, they listened carefully to what we wanted and it came in at a lot less than the others would have been. They had a lead time of several months as they were so popular!

Cost will depend on how complicated you want it to be. A run of wardrobes with a rail would be a lot cheaper than multiple drawers.

I agree. Local built-in wardrobe shops has better build quality with the materials they use, and they're usually reputable within the community.

I can say that overcomplication is a no-no. Too many compartments can limit versatility. Keep it practical and adaptable to future storage needs. Using quality hinges, sliders, or handles is advised, as these are prone to wear and tear.

Avoid Hammonds. I, and another local person, have had terrible experiences with these people. Their fitting work is beyond belief. Complete amateurs.
