Short term let..advice

I live in a property in a holiday area. It has 2 extra bedrooms (but the potential of 3 ) to airbnb or bed and breakfast let out. While I do not want to do this in the long term, there is an opportunity to rent out these rooms for a large event taking place next year. This isn't a yearly event but has the potential for me to make a bit of extra money for this one off.

How can I do this without undertaking this on a long term basis? I wouldn't have any difficulty advertising it or getting customers as such, but just want to be on the right side of the law if I do this...eg insurance, tax etc or anything else I'm not aware of. My property was run by the previous owner as an airbnb so it wouldn't need many adjustments as such...I dont think????

Is the property your primary/only residence?

I think you are allowed to have lodgers for up to £6,000 per annum tax free.
