discharge of planning condition oops

We worked with an architect through our building contractors for planning permission for decking. He told us by email it was passed in Dec 2023, we then parted ways with the company in March/April 2023 after they hadn't attended our property since Dec 2023. We got someone new to carry out the decking work but when looking at the information to apply for a completion certificate I realised there was a condition to inform them of the materials to be used before we start.

I realise I should have looked into this more and been aware, it's all been a steep learning curve. I've now started filling in the form to advise on the condition/materials but it asks if the work has started and on what date it was begun. I was planning on being honest but I'm already paying £100 to submit this form, is it going to mean I need retrospective planning permission rather than a discharge now? No point in paying for both and don't want to make any more mistakes. Or should I just tick the 'no' box and hope for the best?

Thanks for any advice
