Etiquette re Fences

We have just had some of the property information forms back today which show we are responsible for left and rear fences, neighbour is responsible for the fences on the right.

The house we are buying has pretty rubbish fences (mentioned on survey and visibly slanting to various degrees) particularly at the front

The front only has a fence to the right.
I know the state of it will annoy me every time I walk in the front door.

Would it be reasonable to ask the neighbour if they'd be happy for me to replace it?
Or, is it best to try and turn a blind eye?

I don't want to annoy them by asking for them to fix it. It looks like they are in no hurry to do it.

I’ve asked neighbours if they’d mind me replacing their fence. They’ve been happy for me to go ahead!

Thanks @PilgorTheGoat
I will only be offering if it's not a huge expense it must be said.
We won't be worrying about the garden just yet.

Yes it's ok to mention it but I'd wait a few months until you are doing some other outdoor improvements so it doesn't look quite so disapproving!

Fences are always more expensive than you think.

I'm just googling some prices now @LamasPyjama.
I had underestimated the costs a lot.
I will definitely have to plan for the back garden...hoping there's no severe winds this winter as it's not going to be the top of the priority list.
