First time buyer in limbo!

I’m a FTB, viewed a property at the weekend and I’ve fallen in love with it. We have an agreement in principle already and are 100% going to make an offer, but my solicitor has advised us to hold tight and arrange a second viewing. I’m so nervous in the meantime that the house could be snapped up by someone else! We can’t view again until the weekend. We’ve already put a note of interest in and the solicitor is trying to find out if there are any other notes of interest but it’s only been on the market for a week. If we offer (and it’s accepted) before the weekend, we can’t attend a second viewing (we’re in Scotland) so I’m trying so hard to be patient but I’m half tempted to just make an offer and scrap the second viewing as it wasn’t a viewing to make sure we definitely liked it, it was just to check things like water pressure etc and anything we forgot on the first viewing… argh! I don’t know what to do. Can anyone more seasoned in house buying give me some words of wisdom?

Op, it's you buying the house not the solicitor. If you love it, put in an offer!

If you love it and you want it then make the offer! You will absolutely kick yourself if someone else swoops in and makes an offer before you. Don't wait.

Are you friends or related to your solicitor? I've never heard of one so invested!

Just get your offer on the table, why wait?
In England you can withdraw or revise your offer up to exchange, not sure about Scottish system but they must have some room for this as I assume you will do a survey etc?

Good luck!

@mouseyowl yes, solicitor is my best friend! The offer would be subject to a full survey and some other checks so I really want to just go for it! My other worry is if we offer too early then they may decline anyway and hold out for a better offer as it’s recently listed, but it’s a gamble between that or losing out completely if someone beats us to it..

The Scottish system is not the same, so don't follow advice based on English. That said, it is you buying, not your solicitor, so uou need to go with what you are happy with.

@SprigatitoYouAndIKnow true! She said because we have a note of interest in, what should (in theory!) happen is that if someone else puts an offer in, we should be given the opportunity to make our bid too.
