Hello
Looking for some advice from anyone who has experience with this..
My husband and I have applied for a mortgage with NatWest. We passed the hard credit search and valuation is all done and fine
Yesterday the underwriter got in touch with our broker to query a couple of small payments we are making to two different debt collection agencies (£20 and £30). They are old debts (electricity/old student overdraft) from 4 and 10 years ago. Total remaining is about £700 altogether. The debts don't show up on our credit files and have not impacted our credit score or anything like that..
We did tell our broker about these debts but I'm wondering if the broker didn't let the lender know about them?
We owe about £24k in debt which we are able to pay off with the sale of our house, NatWest is aware of this and this doesn't seem to be an issue.
Nothing else has been queried apart from these two small debts..do you think this will be an issue? Can we be rejected if they were not declared in the application?
Any insight would be much appreciated!
Thank you
