Don’t get dark colours if you get heavy limescale!

whirlyhead · 22/08/2024 11:24

Just got rid of all of mine as you spend your life cleaning them and they still look streaky. I hate them!!!

I recently got them in a matt finish and no issues with streaks. Not a hard water area though.

soft water area here - we have them in main bathroom and ensuite and love them. Have had the first lot for almost 7 years now and no problems at all. We use a squeegee/scraper to wipe water off them after a shower (as we do to the glass shower screen) and that’s all I ever have to do

Had ours put up jn June and love them. We have black with glitter/sparkle and they catch the sun and look like rainbows. Haven't had any problems with streaks and we live in a hard water area, use a squeegee on the walls and screen before leaving the shower and that seems to do the job.

We had ours last year and they have been the best thing we did. They look as good now as when they were first put up. No problems at all with keeping them clean or getting streaks. In fact we find them easier to keep clean than tiles where the grouting gets grubby and need bleaching often to keep it white. We have a squeegy and when we finish in the shower we spray it with 'spray, wipe done, then direct the shower spray over it to wash it off. Then we squeegy the walls and shower screen before leaving the shower. No streaks!

Thank you so much everyone.
What would I do without the massed minds of MNSmile
Very hard water. Thinking PVC in a pale flecked/onxy finish. Google says acrylic scratches ??
Was thinking mat but@InfoSecInTheCity yours do sound lovely....

I have Bushboard Nuance shower panels and like pp have found it so much easier to keep clean. Mine are a matt finish and look like slabs of stone. I don't have hardwater but I imagine the limescale wouldn't show too badly on that.

InfoSecInTheCity · 22/08/2024 14:49

@Thisoldheartofmine it's this one https://www.rubberduckbathrooms.co.uk/multipanel-stardust-laminated-shower-panels-board?gadsource=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD9LCQ04FxKK6bbzMXR9e5agbEcuC&gclid=Cj0KCQjww5u2BhDeARIsALBuLnO08kOkkNAMuAgyrqI3R1gMwI1Se8QsqJw3rUwneGEvKvSnIrFFnS4aAla-EALwwcB#gaddsource=1

The pic attached is partway through the bathroom being done, so unpapered walls and ceiling hadn't been painted yet and the shower panels hadn't been cleaned down but you get the idea.

I work casually in a housekeeping role and the showers have panels. I find them superb for cleaning and even though it’s hard water they buff up like a dream.

im cleaning 10 per shift and they get inspected afterwards

the shower screens are marble type grain pattern

Thisoldheartofmine · 27/08/2024 14:35

Thank you @MikeRafone !!Brilliant to hear .I was concentrating on not having to maintain the grouting ..

Ours are a matt finish, we live in a hard water area, and they're so much easier to keep clean than tiles and grout.
