Help! Vacuums not compatible with carpet - Dyson / Sebo

In need of some help here.
When using my current Dyson stick vacuum I noticed matting or balling of the carpet fibres in the high traffic areas and as someone who has touch sensory sensitivity it feels horrible.

I read a post on here which stated stick vacuums are not ideal for many carpets due to the rotating brush - canister or upright vacuums were recommended. I purchased a Sebo felix due to its ability to turn off the rotating, however I am still seeing the same balling.

Please can I get some recommendations on how to tackle this. Do I need to get an alternative vacuum, or are carpets prone to this over time?
I have attached images of an area which is plush and a problem area.

Would a Miele canister with no brush be better?!

I think you need to make sure you are hoovering it in a specific way. If you are hoovering against the pile it will make it stand more upright, you need to hoover along the pile. Idk how else to describe it: imagine surfing on a wave coming into shore versus surfing against a wave going out. Going out tears the wave up, coming in on top of it does not. Perhaps you need to put the hoover a few feet in front of you and drag it back towards you, instead of away from you.

It also looks like a cheap carpet to me and I don't think you'd get a less jarring result for your sensory issue with any other hoover. We had one like this in our last rental and the pile up the stairs had gone like this within nine months.

Final suggestion: these pre-date electric hoovers and hardly anyone has them these days, but I was surprised and pleased by how easy it was to pick up a lot of dirt on cheap, crap carpets with one:

Have a look on Facebook marketplace and you might find someone selling one for a fiver or tenner, like I did.

Turn the power setting down if it has one. If not I'd get a Miele plug in cat and dog which has different power settings.
