Stamp duty and second property

I own a property, my fiance is currently buying a property using money he's inherited. The plan is to rent out mine and live in his. We're getting married Christmas 2025. Will getting married mean we then have to pay additional stamp duty as his property then becomes the marital home so in effect I will own two homes.

If he is buying the home just by himself before you marry and he has no interest in any other property after the purchase is completed then there is no extra stamp duty to pay.

The fact that you later marry him has no effect at all, it all depends what the situation is on the day that the sale is completed.

But things will be affected in the future if you move and still have your rental property.
