Blinds2go - experiences please?

We moved house last Autumn and need to get blinds for all the rooms downstairs. They have big windows so it won’t be cheap. After getting a quote from a local curtain maker (💰) I’ve decided to use a company like Blinds2go. But before I spend out, I wanted to ask if anyone’s bought Roman blinds from them and have they lasted well?
Also, what’s the deal with the Suresize insurance? Do you send the incorrect blind back before they order the new one? Am thinking they must have lots of blinds sent back that they need to sell off?!

Used them once and was very happy with them- very helpful instructions when it came to measuring to make the order (in my case it had to be a very precise fit). Fitted perfectly. If I needed more blinds I'd start looking there.

Seaitoverthere · 07/08/2024 12:05

They are my general go to if I need blinds.

FlipFlopVibe · 07/08/2024 12:06

Yes we used them for roman blinds a few months back. Found the whole process really easy, the measuring guides are helpful and ours are exactly as we ordered. All 5 of them are spot on. Paid about £300 for them all. Didn't get the insurance.

Bought their cheaper velux blinds and they are better than the real ones.

Many thanks everyone. I’m going to go ahead and place an order.
I vaguely thought about learning to make them myself but I think it’s a bit beyond me tbh!

my roman blinds from them are about 20 years old and still going strong!

We ordered blinds recently. I am not very pleased with them. They were supposed to be easyfit under the black beading round windows.

The clips just keep sliding out and although I bought black out lining, it’s just a joke as the blinds don’t cover the window properly so the blackout is kinda useless.

They have just sent me large RED stick ons so that the clips stick to the window. As you can see red is just useless.

Anyone else had this problem and what did you do about it?

That doesn’t look right at all. These are our easy fit in the hall. Simply hold in place, move the lever till it’s tense and it’s done.

have you sent them the pics?

Actually looking at those, have you ordered the wrong size, easy fit is basically an extendable rod, it needs to be taut to either side to hold it up; the blinds look too narrow?

Brookidy · 13/08/2024 11:48

Used them a few times before, no problems whatsoever, nicely quality and a great range of prints to choose from.

I did measure up one of the blinds wrongly and, at that time, they offered me another one at half the cost, so I did that, the insurance thing they offer now is a good idea.

Just about to put in another order myself, just awaiting the samples!

GasPanic · 13/08/2024 11:54

I used them for venitian perfectfit.

They were pretty good. Two issues. Getting the clips in is hard. You really need a very thin piece of metal to help prise the seal off the window, something that is so thin it is flexible. Pushing the clips into window seals when they are fairly old is hard work because the seals tend to stick to the windows.

Second issue was they did the cables up too tight and they were almost impossible to unravel. They appear to have stopped doing this now. But when I complained they sent out replacement product no issues.

If you are worried about whether you can fit, just order one for a small window to experiment before doing the entire house.

Mine are called easyfit floating blind and you have a clip not a rod. Didn’t know it would be such a problem when I ordered them. I will resolve it with them. They said I put the clips on wrong, no I didn’t, the string was too tight, no it isn’t.

thank for your help though!

Thumbs up from me. You can actually speak to a live human being on the phone too, always a bonus.

Jumping on, can I ask of the blackout linings are good? Looking at a light pink Roman blond for DDs West facing bedroom but I'm not sure if a light colour with blackout lining will be good enough, so very grateful for opinions!

Yes for me the blackout is very good. Obvs a little bit of light escapes the sides , as they would with curtains I guess, depending on how tight a fit it is. I have blackout in the bedrooms, thermal in the downstairs hall and reception rooms, and light filtering in the upstairs hall, not sure I’d pick the light filtering again, seems a little pointless.

The thermal also blacks out. So I’d go for that every time.

GradGirl · 13/08/2024 15:01

I'd get thermal linings too. I have them on roller blinds in my south facing bays in a neutral linen to block out the sun/stop things fading. Really well made and no different to the blackout linings in the roman blinds I have in terms of blocking out.

I looked into Blinds2Go, but I found that Everyday Blinds had a better approach when it came to sizing issues. Their insurance was cheaper, and they didn’t even ask for the blind back—they just sent a new one straight away! If you’re worried about returns and extra costs, it’s worth checking them out here: Everyday Blinds.

Pleased with the blinds but not with the metal brackets. Prefer the less obtrusive brackets with John Lewis blinds.
