How long for a kitchen project?

I’m at the beginning of planning a new kitchen. It’s a very small space (<3m x <4m) and have a rough idea of what I want. Change from L shape of units, to U, so I get more storage and worktop space. Integrated appliances, but without moving the position of hob, sink, washing machine, etc. New flooring and tiles/splashback. Kickboard drawers.
My question is, roughly how long will I need to deal with having no kitchen facilities while it is done? I’m in no hurry to start, but want to time it to make it as easy to cope with as possible. Thanks.

We have just had a new kitchen extension and we were with cooking facilities for approx 2 weeks. We set up a microwave in our dinning room. It was fine.

Mine took four weeks to be completely finished, plaster dry etc but 2 weeks to being useable.

Sorry should say WITHOUT cooking facilities for 2 weeks.

To add to the issues, I have two dogs who will need ‘managing’. They are very friendly and nosy and will try and help! But also any open doors will be risky as they will escape, so I will need to restrict them. The house is small with just lounge and kitchen downstairs, and I would imagine the fitters will need to go through the lounge to the garden and garage where the bits will be stored. I’m wondering if it’s worth moving out to an air bnb for the duration, if I can find one that will accept the dogs.

If no moving of electrics and plumbing and no plastering I would say 2 weeks maximum.

Our kitchen took about 2 weeks too, which included having the floor levelled and LVT laid in the kitchen and hall. We put our cat in the cattery as we had to move out when the floor was being done as we couldn't use the hall to access the house
If you have an airfryer and/or microwave its fine

If no plastering and electrics, 2 weeks max. Can you utilize baby gates or other corralling thing like dog pen. That's got to be cheaper than Airbnb. Plus you can sell on the items with only two weeks use.

Agree with this. There are always babu gates being sold second hand on Facebook Marketplace.
