How much wallpaper for one wall?

We’ve just bought a house, don’t have keys yet but trying to be proactive and book decorators.
I want just one wall in the lounge wallpapered, but since I can’t go in and measure yet I’m trying to work out how much is needed.
The roll length is 10m and the lounge dimensions are 4.43m x 5.35m.
I’ve got one roll but does anyone know if this should be more than enough?

No. One roll isn’t enough. How wide is the roll and how high are the ceilings? Is there a pattern repeat?

Generally speaking, it depends on the height of your room, the width of the wallpaper and the repeat (i.e. how much paper you potentially lose each time you have to match up widths of paper than go side by side).

Standard ceilings are about 2.4m high and wallpaper tends to be about 50cm wide. So depending on which wall you're looking at, the 4.43m wall will need 9 widths of wallpaper (50x 9 = 450cm) so you'll need 9 x 2.4m (assuming you're going from floor to ceiling across the whole wall) - 21.6m so thats 3 rolls. You could potentially knock off some of the height for skirting board etc, but depending on the pattern, you have to allow for the pattern repeat so its always better to have more than less.

If you're papering the longer wall, you'll need 11 widths probably so 11 x 2.4m so a minimum of 26.4m so you might need 3 or 4 depending on the repeat.

One roll won't be enough, especially if there is a large match, you will probably need about 3 or 4 but that is just a ball park figure, best to get a bit over so they are all the same batch no. and often you can return rolls you don't use, though check this with the store

Hi all, the wall width is 5.35m.
The roll of paper is 10.05m x 0.52m.
I don’t know how high the ceilings are 🫣 and it is a repeating pattern.

It does sound like I’m going to need more, I was hoping not as it was £60 a roll but it’s such a lovely wallpaper I had to have it! Will check if anything unused can be returned.

One roll very unlikely to be enough. A roll is typically about 3 floor-to-ceiling lengths. Occasionally 4 if you are really lucky with the pattern repeats and highly skilled with the measuring and cutting to minimise waste.

If you are buying another roll make sure the colour codes match, and it is sold as wallpaper not 'mural' ?

I’ve never wallpapered anything in my life but surely it’s just how big the wall is divided by how big the wallpaper is plus a bit extra for mistakes.

I think you're probably going to need 4 rolls minimum for that xx

Use a wallpaper calculator to estimate how much you'll need

You also need to factor in the size of the "repeat". Using these zebras as an example, if the paper at floor level is cut partway through a zebra, then you are going to need to discard some each time so that all of the zebras line up at the top.
