Will an electric shower work ok if installed on its side?

My electric shower stopped heating the water and I have a spare unit (different
Model but suitable for cable and RCD), only trouble is that the water inlet is in a different location on the back.
In 2 weeks bathroom is being ripped out, so only need a very temporary solution.
The only way I can install the spare shower, due to where electrics enter and cable length, plumbing inlet, limited space etc is if I fit it on its side (rotating the unit 90 degrees).
Will an electric shower work ok if it is not installed upright, ie it is installed on its side or upside down?
I know it'll look weird, but happy to live with that for 2 weeks.

I would think not, i had an electric shower and inside there was a small copper tank with, I believe an element at the bottom a bit like a kettle. If it were on its side part of the element may not be covered with water and would get extremely hot and dangerous.

Could you get some flexible pipe to allow you to fit it upright? Something like in the picture. You may need some adapters too.

No as the IP rating (water resistance) for electrical safety only applies when it's installed the correct way up.
