Damp through floor

I’ve noticed some dark patches on the carpet in two downstairs rooms, which I thought were just stains, but seem to be getting bigger. There are floorboards under the carpet, and these locations also correspond to slightly dodgy / wobbly floorboards.
I’ve tried to lift the carpet near one of the patches, and the underlay does feel kind of damp.

My question is: who should I be getting in to look at this? Surveyor? Damp specialist? General builder? I need to deal with whatever is causing the damp before doing any rectification to the floor, so should it be someone with drainage expertise?

I’m in Bucks, if anyone has any local-ish recommendations!

Let's suppose it is damp.

Where is the water coming from?

What is nearest?

Radiator pipes? Sink? Washbasin? Shower? Rain coming in under the front door? Leaking washer?

When you take the floor covering up you will see where it's wettest and work out the source.
