Contractor keeps depositing garden waste in my designated parking space?

Hi all

I have been renting a flat and its designated parking space for almost a year. The agency manages the house which has 10 flats being rented out. There is a contractor who works for the agency who cleans up garden waste from time to time. The issue is that, for some reason he uses my designated parking space, that I’m paying a rental sum for each month, as a garden waste deposit site.

There have now been a few instances where I have come home only to find the parking space obstructed by large bags of leaves or other garden refuse being left there for collection (which takes days to happen), rendering me having to physically move them out of the way in order to park my car. More concerningly, he had ample space to keep refuse collections where he is not obstructing anybody’s parking space but carelessly chooses not to take this option.

I have raised the issue with my agents each time and even though they say they’ll have a word with the contractor not to do it again, it keeps happening. Clearly it is not being taken seriously, and naturally as someone paying for the parking space every month which is carelessly being used again and again as a refuse deposit site, it is incredibly unfair.

I am wondering what step I can take next? I don’t want to have a fallout with the agency over it because I am fond of the property otherwise and wish to stay here long term. I have also been an excellent tenant who looks after the flat and pays rent on time etc, no other issues. So what might a feasible way to resolve this be?

Many thanks in advance for your inputs 💐

Tackle the contractor yourself - he may not know. Perhaps the agency isn't talking to him about it. Or put cones there, or get a friend to park there? Or maybe send him an invoice for the use of your space?

Take photos each time and tell them you want a reduction in your monthly fee as the space you pay for is not usable?

You enter into a contract with them, surely that would be a breach of the contract?

Are there camera door bells around? If not tip all the waste all over where he cleaned it up from…..,

I can be petty but I'd pick it up and throw it on the pavement next to my space. Not your rubbish not your problem. Hopefully people will complain it's all over the pavement and he'll have to explain what he did with it.

I would also try to have a word with him. If it keeps happening beyond that, I would drag them to a communal location, where residents will complain to the agency.

I would also be writing a formal letter to the agency requesting a refund for the days your parking space has been unavailable.

Whilst that's tempting, I'd be worried he'd come back and slash tyres/key the car.
