Need to do this within 2 days as unexpectedly found a house we love & time is of the essence as we go away next week. Cant shove/hide things in our car as will be using those for our trip and they'll be packed with camping gear. The agents may want to show people round while we are away!
Any tips welcome - thank you

Ruthlessly declutter - get rid of anything you wouldn’t take to new place with you
donate to charity, clothes bank, dump any rubbish
make sure your bathroom and kitchen look really clean

Get a friend over to kindly give you fresh eyes on your house. Get them to tell you what they think that need improving.

Declutter! Get to the tip. Anything you don't want to move get rid of now.

Get a cleaner in to deep clean?

Take photos your rooms and see what seems out of place.

A clean house I think is more important than a massive de clutter but it must be de cluttered enough for others to see themselves and their things in the home I'd say so leave photos up but don't have boxes and boxes of toys all over the place etc but it must be clean and smell fresh 😁

Open all of the windows
Get packing boxes
Go through each room and put any ornaments, photos and flummery into the packing boxes. Label the packing boxes as that will save unpacking and re-packing when you move. If you've got a loft or a shed or a friend who can store them, put them in there. If not, rent one of those storage units
What little bits of DIY and things have you been meaning to sort out for ages? Can you deal with those?
Make sure you've not only emptied but clean the bins before you go away so that there are no dodgy smells during viewings. Likewise, anything to do with pets. And the fridge.

I don’t think clutter put me off buying but it can make rooms look smaller.
first house I bought had nothing on the worktops in the kitchen -kettle and toaster were in cupboards. Also had no where for the hoover, I had to keep mine under the bed.
i think I would powerhose the paving front and back if any . Not leave clothing lying about.

Tidy as much as possible. I think putting all the excess stuff in one place looks better than having it spread all over the house, so one corner/room looks bad but the rest of the house looks good. Putting it in the shed/garage if you have one would be even better.
Bedspreads and cushions on beds.
Plump up the sofas.
Hide away the visible toiletries and cleaning products in the bathrooms.
De-weed outside.
Keep the kitchen worktops clear, so remove small appliances if possible.
All over general clean.
Good luck!

Take photos yourselves, that can tell a lot - see what stands out you don't like.

If you haven't got time and space to declutter too much, try and put things in tidy piles and the odd ornament/whatever can be put in your drawers/wardrobe. If you end up with two/three boxes with things in them, can you put those where tent and camping things are kept, then worry about them when you return.

A home is a home though, so don't feel you need to remove too much (unless it's really bad) as I often think a house looks not lived in/clinical if it's too bear.

On the day of the photos, open the curtains/blinds as far as possible to get max amount of light in.

Thank you all SO much this is so helpful- great tips from everyone- gonna be a mad busy few days i think. Our house will look unrecognisable and we'll wonder why we'd not decluttered sooner!

A quick tidy of the front, new plants in pots etc, brush/clean driveway etc - first impressions count and a photo of the front of the house is often first on rightmove listings.
A few new house plants is a nice touch, I like to see a homely home so don't declutter too much so the home is too devoid of personality.

Clean windows and mirrors.
If you have time wash/change all the bedlinen on the beds so they smell fresh.
