I currently live in a one person tiny bungalow and it's had nothing but problems with mould and rats etc. the problem caused me to become ill housing association are refusing to do anything. I now have a baby and I requested a managers move due to not wanting my baby in a property in disrepair. I paid for a doctors letter and my request for a managers move was still rejected. I am now on housing list but hardly ever any 2 bed houses only flats which i have to bid on to have a ranking and to stay on the list. should I accept a 2 bed new build flat with no garden or should I wait for a house? I want a house but I don't think I can wait so long.

Take whichever comes up first, a 2 bed flat is fine. Contact Shelter and your local mp about your current poor conditions and take photos,

I've been living in a 1 bed flat with my DP and 3yr old and although it's not ideal we have managed fine.
Only moving now due to schools etc as we need to leave our flat by the time he's 5 and we can't afford to stay in the local area.

I'd take whichever comes available first so you have a nicer environment for you both.

Take whichever you can get into most quickly. You do not want your baby’s lungs exposed to mould, it’s extremely dangerous.

If you have any green space (parks, playgrounds etc) nearby then just go for a flat. Babies and toddlers don't care that much about gardens and you cam cope perfectly well with kids in a flat. The priority is to get somewhere decent so accept the first thing you can

A 2 bed new build flat sounds fine for the two of you, you can always go to parks etc if you don’t have a garden.

The main thing is to get away from your current place that is making you ill. Good Luck and hope you can move soon 🤞

There can be advantages of flats with small children

A healthy home is more beneficial than a garden.
