Which Osmo (oil/ wax?) should I use?

Wasn’t sure which forum…

I’ve removed some awful paint and sanded down some old beams. It looks like they’re pine. Much better now, but they are now much lighter than expected and clearly 'old' - not sure how to explain better.

I want to finish them so that they look decent. I keep seeing Osmo recommended, but there seem to be loads of products and I’m not sure which to use.

I want them to stay looking like wood. If anything they’re too light now, but I’ve heard pine doesn’t take stain well - can you get a coloured varnish?

I want to protect the wood as well as make it look nice.

We did osmo all through our house after sanding back the floorboards. It's an old Victorian house so the light wood after sanding looked odd and I used one of the oak coloured stains. There's loads of colours so best to choose what suits you, we used poly-x (I did a grey stain in bedrooms.) and did two coats tinted, then a satin I think.

Great thing about it is that if it wears through or you damage a bit you can just go over it again, unlike varnish which you have to sand back. Also we had to replace a couple of boards entirely but you'd never know.
