Do you keep your toiletries in the main bathroom or the ensuite?

Or ferry them back and forth?
It drives me a bit nuts having to keep moving them when I am on an early shift!
Am I supposed to have two sets?
1st world problem I know.

Are you talking about shampoo/conditioner, shower gel and toothbrush/toothpaste or moisturiser, cleanser etc? I keep my toothbrush and shower gel in the ensuite. My moisturisers, cleaners etc in my bedroom and the shampoo/conditioner stay in the main bathroom because it has a more powerful shower that is better for washing my hair.

JustKeepSwimmingJust · 17/07/2024 20:50

Well I only have a main bathroom…

But when I did live somewhere with an en suite, and in fact in my swimming bag now I had two of everything used very regularly. So if both rooms are in use 3-4 times a week I would have two shower gels etc.

they just take twice as long to use up.

Some days I go in to the office early and dh WFH so I avoid going in the ensuite those days and move my things the night before.
Other days it's the other way around, it's not a particularly fun game

Dh and I only use the en-suite and kids have the main bathroom. Whoever is up first just tries to be as quiet as possible but with 2 kids and a dog 7am is considered a lay in. If I needed to shower in the kids bathroom I'd have to take up shampoo but would just use their shower gel.

2 sets. After the initial purchase, it's no more expensive because you use things at a slower pace when you're using two sets.

The only time I don't is toiletiry gifts that I just place in the bathroom they are most likely to be used/wanted.

Basically this except I do just use our en-suite. I guess if one of us was getting up at a very unusual time then we might use the main bathroom but I’d rather not disturb the children tbh.

Why wouldn't you just have 2 sets of everything?

It wouldn't occur to me to move them from one bathroom to the other.

LibertyDuck · 17/07/2024 21:11

LOL. Personally I have the butler bring my toiletries to wherever I happen to be bathing.

RunningThroughMyHead · 17/07/2024 21:23

I keep it all in the ensuite because that's where I always get ready. My husband sleeps like a log so no chance of disturbing him.

If you need to use both rooms, it makes sense to buy double and won't cost anymore in the long run. Get a cheap manual toothbrush for the bathroom you use less often.

tawnyduck · 18/07/2024 14:43

Two sets of everything, plus a mini set and toothbrush for the downstairs loo, for when DH has gone to bed earlier and DS is using the main bathroom. Generally buy toiletries on multibuys or multipacks so I always have spares stashed, couldn't be dealing with ferrying them back and forth.

MalcolmTuckersSwearBox · 18/07/2024 14:44

I keep them in the bathroom I use.

KievLoverTwo · 18/07/2024 15:04

Toothbrushes live across 3 bathrooms, toiletries in my bedroom. I dislike putting face/body cream/deodorant on in a wet room.

Notaflippinclue · 19/07/2024 12:20

I have en-suite husband has main bathroom and never the twain shall meet

BobnLen · 19/07/2024 19:22

Have two lots, I couldn't be doing with moving them, it won't be no more expensive as you use them the same amount. We also have a different lot in the caravan

TheDogIsInCharge · 19/07/2024 19:34

I only use the ensuite. And until the main bathroom shower needed fixing, I was the only one who ever really used it. Thus, it is full of my stuff. My husband was using my K18 shampoo yesterday and he got telt - sorry dude, it's the Pantene for you.

My hair products are in a box in the downstairs loo along with the various SPF's I have. There are some perfumes in here too and hair gadgets I use regularly.

Perfumes, moisturisers, serums, tanning drops, facial oil, spare toothbrush and toothpaste are all in a drawer in the kitchen.

Night moisturisers, foot lotion etc live in a drawer in the bedside table. Don't ask me about makeup or nail polish or eyebrow dye etc...

I never go into the family bathroom as I delegated the upkeep of that to the people who actually use it. If I need to be up really early - say 0400/0430 - I shower the night before and I'm in and out the ensuite like a flash.

Arlanymor · 19/07/2024 19:38

Two sets - just move the perfume.

RidingMyBike · 20/07/2024 08:53

Don't currently have this set up but did in a previous house!

Two sets of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner so you don't need to move them.

Toothbrushing and face washing stuff in en suite as not loud enough to wake DH up whilst I was using them.

NerdyBird · 20/07/2024 09:03

I'd just use the ensuite and DH would have to cope. What time are you getting up?

Kitkat1523 · 20/07/2024 09:05

But why wouldn’t you have toiletries in both.? ….. am I missing something here 🤔
