New wardrobes, Ikea Pax or Sharps or something else

Hi. we are starting our attic conversion soon and have a length of wall that will be between 190cm to 195cm that will be our wardrobes.
Has anyone used Sharps or another service that will install a custom fit. Do they actually fit perfectly or do they prefer round numbers...
Also how expensive are they compared to flat pack?
DH thinks we could go for Ikea Pax and chop a bit off the end! To be fair he probably could. Both of us are perfectly capable of putting together flat pack and have the diy skills and tools required.
I just want the room to look fantastic...

Pax will be loads cheaper. We had Pax wardrobes in our last house. Fitted them ourselves and then got a joiner in to box them in so they looked fitted.

These are our old wardrobes!

We used Sharps years ago. Yes they custom fit, but you pay more for the privilege.
It might be worth asking for recommendations for a local carpenter who will be cheaper. They might be able to do something fancy with ikea stuff, or supply and fit something bespoke.

I used a local company/ fitter who got his wardrobes from the same supplier as Sharps and charged half the price.

Also sliding doors can be made to fit because of the overlap on the sliding rail.

I used a local company, lovely wardrobes and cheaper, if this is not possible I'd use pax and put a surround around them so they look built in.

We used Hammonds. They were great! About 5k for 4 fitted wardrobes (local carpenter quoted 16k). Very happy with the finish and service

We used a company called lark and larks to supply wardrobes which they will make to your specific measurements. You can fit themselves if you want, I don't think they're difficult to assemble and there's certainly no cutting down needed because you order them how you need them. They have a massive range of door and carcass styles and finishes, they also do all the matching plinths, cornices end panels etc which I don't believe IKEA do.

Yes, they are more expensive than pax but the quality is so much higher. We were in IKEA recently and had a look at pax out of interest and were really surprised at how flimsy they seemed and felt in comparison.

Are you and your husband particularly handy? This is probably carpenter level stuff but we had an IKEA pax. It was shorter than the ceiling so we put like a fake wall in at the top. And then DH custom made the doors with wood and trim, then painted them. They were beautiful. I hope to be able to have them in this house too

We used Sliderobes for 3 wardrobes. Custom fit and helpful design service

Thank you so much for all these recommendations. I will looking through them all this evening.
DH is handy enough to box them in, but when could be the issue - one day he will actually finish and install the bath panel that is currently in the dining room...
