What paint colour would go with this wallpaper?

Fell in love with this wallpaper and just had to have it above the panelling in my living room.

However, the white primer that's currently on the panelling, obviously doesn't go and an embarrassing amount has been spent on sample pots! We just cannot make up our mind on paint colour. What do you think, please? I'm currently back on a muted, moss green but I've been here before and changed my mind again! He thinks a dusky rose colour to go with the cherry blossom on the wallpaper but I'm not 100% sold on that....

I would share a picture of the entire room but it's a tip right now. Just know that it's not a huge room and it has a small window, so dark paints are a no go. (I know, I know, probably shouldn't have chosen a dark wallpaper but I just love it 🥰 )

FYI: The Panelling is all the way around the room.

Ps, Please ignore the bike in the hallway, it’s temporary and thankfully the flooring is next on the list.

Thanks

No I like it! I think I've used Oh where others might use hmm.

I don't think any of the pink shades pictured are quite right though.

Ahh I see haha thanks.

I love sulking room pink! I'll be getting a sample pot of that tomorrow.

Also, would either of these go, do we think?

Actually, neither. I don’t think a matching or complimentary paint colour would do that paper justice. You need something contrasting like vibrant turquoise; or something like brushed gold; or something like rust. You don’t want more of the same at all.

Could you two tone the panelling? One colour on the "square" & another on the surround? A pale cherry blossom pink & a very soft grey or pale grey-green maybe?

I used SRP below a pink and green wallpaper, would think that would work well with your paper too.

Good idea but I don't think my room is big enough for something like that. Thanks though

Love the wallpaper!
I had a look at the link you posted and they show it with burnt orange sofa (last picture) which I thought looked really lovely and might work??

Yes, that's what I was going to suggest too. Btw you can get Johnstones paint (and probably others too) colour matched to farrow and ball. Much cheaper. I'm sure some people can tell the difference but I can't!

Oh I love that paper! Have saved it for when we move!

Zampa · 05/07/2024 22:16

Personally, I'd put the pink on the ceiling and then pick a green from the wallpaper for the panelling.

Honestly, don't leave your ceiling white. Adding colour to the 5th wall elevates everything. White ceilings are boring!

WetBandits · 06/07/2024 07:59

I love it! I have a pink and green wallpaper as a feature wall in my living room, the two walls either side are painted F&B Calke Green and then the back and side walls are F&B Calamine.

MoHunter · 06/07/2024 08:42

I agree 💯 with the person who picked out the minty green/blueish colour here, it would look great. You could take the wallpaper to a Dulux decorator centre or similar, and have them colour match that particular shade or another from the wallpaper.
