Bathroom - where to tile?

I'm feeling slightly panicked as the bathroom fitters are starting work two weeks earlier than I had in my head so I need to crack on ordering tiles...I've attached a floorplan.

We need to fully tile the shower area but what would you do in the rest of the room? Half height all the way round? Half height around the bath and vanity? Or just a splashback for the vanity?
If we tile around the bath, is it weird to just do a splashback for the vanity? Help!

All the photos I've seen of Edwardian bathrooms have the room half-tiled, or just above half-tiled.

You definitely get splashes above/around a bathroom basin though so just in the shower isn't enough imo.

I kind of feel the shower, around the bath and the vanity splashback is enough. I don't think DP agrees.

Anyone showering would shut the bathroom door though? We're not having an end panel to the shower as it would create a corridor effect as you walk into the room. Bath mat for the shower will go on a towel ring/rail when shower not in use. We already don't leave the bath mat on the floor when the bath/shower are not in use.

You obviously dont have small children that insist on being in your presence at all times!

No, we don't!😁

Half tile the wall around the toilet and basin. Just have full tiling around the the bath/shower.
Tiling is expensive, but that is not the reason why we opted for part/half tiled wall around basin and toilet area. The bathroom gets good ventilation and tile grout can be a real problem over time. Even thought material has advanced, it can still get spoiled by condensation. Whereas, good quality bathroom paint, easy to update the walls.
I have placed a beautiful wall mirror on the wall with no tiling. You could put a piece of art and make it look stunning and different from the 'hotel' style. You would not be able to do this if it were fully tiled bathroom
Bathroom storage is under the basin. We have a wide sink with a huge drawer cupboard underneath. No need for wall cabinets.

My bathroom is probably a similar size to yours, also with a free standing bath and we wanted the minimum amount of tiling so just basin splash back and shower. We’ve never had any issues with the painted walls around the bath.

I have two free standing baths. One has a painted wall behind and the other is in a fully tiled bathroom. The painted wall is fine but don’t use chalky emulsion. We use F&B modern emulsion.

We have a mirror splash back above the twin sinks in one bathroom - might this work in your bathroom? I like it. Reflects light and if you got beveled edge, in keeping with the house.

Thank you everyone - we're going for half tiling round the whole room. Obviously full height in the shower.

I'd like to minimise what tiling we have, but I'm happy with half tiling.
