Real F&B Wimborne White vs Johnstones Colour Match

Repainting the front room and decided on WW. I'd like to go with real F&B for once but I'm a bit concerned about durability based on what I've read online - I don't fancy the modern emulsion as it sounds like it comes up a bit sheeny, but the estate emulsion sounds like it would mark really easily - no kids but a dog and DH and me both quite clumsy. We have the JCM in most rooms in our house and it's been pretty durable and lasted well, but I did the real F&B tester for WW and it went on so nicely I'm a bit torn!

Any opinions please?

I haven't used it myself but the new dead flat finish is supposed to be very Matt and very durable. I've heard it's not the easiest to apply though needing more coats.
I think I would go for modern myself. The estate emulsion is a nightmare and I would avoid especially in a living area.

You could get a sample point of johnstones as well to see how similar it is.

If you go into a F&B shop they advise and mix to your requirements.

I've had Estate emulsion in every room of my house for 25 years. I think it's durable and I think the real thing is nicer than colour matched versions.

I've got Wimbourne White in my hallway. It's been there for 6 years now. Some of the woodwork could do with touching up.

Wimborne white modern emulsion is my go-to off white- I absolutely love it. I don’t find it too sheeny personally and went for that as we have dogs and children so being able to wipe it is useful.

Our whole house is painted a Johnstones Wimborne White match. It is absolutely fantastic.

My front room is setting plaster (modern emulsion I think - the durable one) and my downstairs toilet is the same colour but matched by B&Q. Hands down the F&B is nicer. It is well worth the increased price and I’ve found it to be very durable. We also have it in our hallway and dining room (diff colour) and it’s been wiped clean so many times. Durability is definitely a quality in F&B paint

The F&B modern emulsion is apparently the most durable paint on the market. It has a definite sheen though. I prefer Little Green Intelligent Emulsion.
