Companies hacking to fit with IKEA Kitchens?

Did anyone getting an Ikea fitted kitchen deviate from also getting IKEA’s ovens, hobs, extractor hoods, sink and taps?

I’ll be getting the cupboard fronts from somewhere else. I haven’t had the time to investigate not getting the other IKEA own brand kit because I’m worried about any other stuff not working with the IKEA measurements etc.

for example I don’t know anything about the quality of IKEA ovens or hobs. And I don’t really fancy their tap designs.

Does anyone have any tips of companies who hack IKEA kitchens with their own designs? (Like the Superfronts type of idea https://superfront.com

We have a Samsung fridge freezer, standalone extractor and different taps. Don't think a non IKEA dishwasher would work and their oven has been brilliant for us but my friend did use different brand oven in her IKEA kitchen.

I think the only appliance that you have to be careful with is the dishwasher. You can still use other brands but need a converter kit which you can get from Ikea I believe. Ovens, hobs, taps etc you'll be fine

This suggests that the dishwashers for Ikea are actually Whirlpool and that is what I always thought as we have the Faktum kitchen which was replaced by Metod in 2013. All my appliances were Whirlpool sourced by us at the time as we wanted touch buttons not knobs. Whirlpool is also Hotpoint which is much cheaper. Only my unit and doors came from Ikea everything else from worktop to sink, oven, hob etc was from elsewhere.

My Ikea kitchen looks brand new despite being in for 11 years.

The link above addresses the dishwasher issue.

Thank you for all of your posts. There’s a lot going on at home so I decided to just keep things simple and use the IKEA appliances. Also helps that they have a 4 for 3 offer on their appliances at the moment (and eg they don’t do a double oven, you have to buy two if you want that) so with a hob and extractor hood that the 4 things.

I used to design kitchens for IKEA and I have an IKEA kitchen myself. The appliances are excellent and always used to come with a 5 year guarantee (don't know if they still do). Some appliances were whirlpool and some were AEG but not sure who makes them now. The ones supplied to IKEA were the superior models with the better parts to meet the guarantee. You can get your appliances from anywhere but I would recommend getting their dishwasher. Taps and sinks get from wherever you want and they will be compatible as it's just a case of the correct size hole being cut in the worktop.
