Is Brentford a good area to buy for your families working in central london

Hello everyone.
My partner and I have been looking to buy a house for a while in west london. We have recently put an offer down for a lovely house in Brentford on Hamilton road. I am pregnant and expecting out first baby to arrive in 3 months.
I don’t know the area that well and unfortunately I’m not fit enough to explore it on foot/ get a good sense of the neighbourhood but we hear good things.
Could anyone advise whether it’s a good area to buy and live, and whether there are good amenities for young mothers with children/playgrounds/ schools?
We are currently in Shepherd’s Bush and I’m worried to loose the amenities and good transport to links - I work in fitzrovia.
The house is lovely and so charming, but gets quite a lot of noise from M4 and the train line running by.
I would be interested to hear other people’s experiences, particularly young parents with kids!
Thank you in advance,
Jo

I don't live there but vaguely know it through work.

It has changed over the past few years. There's a lot of new flats going up and there's a few small supermarkets now.

Personally it's not an area I'd consider moving to, other than the essentials I don't see a lot there, but as I say I'm not a resident.

I suggest joining the local facebook groups as they always give you a good idea. We're relocating to a new area and I done that and ask lots of questions.

I work in Brentford and wouldn’t consider living there. I know the road you mean and would find the noise from the M4 really intrusive. The transport isn’t great, if you’re relying on the train to get into Central London it’s very frustrating when it’s cancelled (although Boston Manor tube isn’t too far away it’s a longer journey). Having said that, I see plenty of mothers with babies and young children around, especially in the cafe in the church.
Would your budget allow you to look in Northfields? The other side of the M4 and a totally different feel with loads of families, really good schools etc.
