Which house 🏠

Hi I was just looking for advice or if anybody has been in a similar situation.

We are having to move from our current property due to no longer being able to afford it.

We have interest in 2 properties

One of which is a lovely house with countryside views, driveway and on street parking. It does have a local primary school.

The other is on a estate with on street parking.

Both similar size.

Our initial thought was the first property as it is a nice area however transport would be a issue. It has a poor bus route and not practicable walking distance with 3 children to the local shops.

OH drives and we have a car. I am currently learning to drive with my test booked in a few months.

The house on the estate has nearby shops regular bus service and schools/pre schools.

I prefer not to move my Eldest DS school as he is in year 4 and would feel this would affect him a lot.

Temporary I could get DS to school by DH dropping us off at my parents before school en route to work if we chose the first property. If we chose the second this wouldn’t be an issue due to being able to get the bus service.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Parking. Always.
There are so many threads on here from people with parking issues when they only have on street parking. I lived in a street where we were one of the only ones with a driveway, the bust ups due to parking were frequent.

Renting or buying?

Renting or buying?

Its council renting so long term. We are priority on the list due to time we’ve been waiting and other factors. We know we are so fortunate to be in this situation. The first house is ideal for our long term home however transportation being a huge issue.

If it's long term, and you'll do all you can to pass your test, then I'd go for option 1.

If there's a chance you won't be driving then I'd go for option 2. The last thing you want is to be trapped and dependent on your husband for all transport.

Will your husband be willing and happy to do all journeys for the first few months? Is he a good husband? What does he think about the options?

I’m hopeful to pass my test as my instructor is considering moving it forward however I do lack self confidence. I feel pressured with so much riding on it.

DH says the first house with the quiet location and driveway parking for 2 vehicles.
He is very supportive and said he is willing to do the transport until I pass my test.
However I do feel a sense of anxiety with maybe feeling trapped there.
