Hi someone has butchered some trees in my garden, literally ripped the branches off :(

What do I need to do to hopefully let it regrow if anything? Really don't want to have a dead tree :(

she was due to leave in a few hours so I just worked on not having a row.

So she has no respect for your property and for your wishes. Wanting to keep the peace with her after this sounds like you've been conditioned not to question her?

In the past I would let her push me to blazing rows but we dont shout at each other in this house and I didn't want to make a scene in front of the kids. But yes absolutely no respect for my property or time.

Gardening Express has some large specimen acers. She owes you. She sounds awful. I'm really angry on your behalf.

We had actually had an ok week up to this point, she just went proper crazy for the last morning.

I am no expert on anything mentioned in this thread, but I'm afraid your last post makes me wonder if your mother was absolutely spoiling for a row by the end of her stay and hoped to provoke one by her behaviour. I'm really sorry she's made such a mess of your garden. The only comfort is plants grow back.

Lord only knows what that was about but she wouldn't be staying with me again.

I've sawn the broken bits back to the bits where the branches split, hopefully that will do the trick.

I had a patch of bamboo, she's stripped all the leaves off it and hacked it to about 1m high, I know bamboo is very hard to kill but should I take it back to a knuckle or something? It's also really bloody sharp.

Christ, I would have been incandescent if anyone did that in my garden. They would never be allowed to visit again, that's for sure.

That looks like black bamboo - that costs a fortune! Really, I'd send her a bill for the replacements & never have her back again. I agree with Gasp0de about her spoiling for a fight by the end of the week. She sounds dreadful.

She has serious issues about boundaries, doesn't she?

You're right, you need to head over to Stately Homes, and ask advice on there. I'm assuming this is your mother.
