Screw pops already visible when moving in

Moved into a new build last week and had a snagger round at the weekend. He noted various relatively minor things and a large number of screw pops - literally every wall/ceiling has numerous. Not super visible unless looking for them. We've talked to the builder about the list and they're mostly fine to fix stuff, but they're saying the screw pops would only be fixed if they are very visible and there's an excessive number in one area. Our house had sat for a few months after being built and the builder is saying this is why there are screw pops - due to normal settling. The snagger has said that is really unacceptable and that moving into a new build the house should be made perfect, the fact that it sat for a while is their problem not ours. Is the snagger right? We just want to make sure we're not being fobbed off.

I’ve no idea I’m afraid but wouldn’t be happy either and wouldn’t be able to unsee them!
but what would fixing them involve? Totally reskimming? Can see why they’d be reluctant to do that

I would assume the snagger is correct. How long the house sat empty is irrelevant... surely they'd be covered under some kind of warranty anyway (within first year or so) and the builder would have to fix?

They are usuall not screws, but nails/tacks. They just tap them in a bit more, fill and touch up the paint.
The snagged is correct.

Yes they need to be made right. Great that your house was empty for a while, it means its dried out quicker and all this will come to light sooner. I had my screw pops done in about month 3 or 4. By 9 months more appeared but by then the site office had closed so I was on my own.

Ive not seen anyone use plasterboard nails for about 30 years now, they will be screws.

Do you have copies of your consumer code, home buyers guide or warranty provider documentation , if not I'd recommend calling customer service and asking where you can find the written confirmation where this isn't covered under the builders warranty. I used to work on site and getting these repaired can depend on the builder/ site manager. I remember the company I worked for would only come out to repair and the settlement cracks if they were wider than a £1 coin.

I've got the exact same issue OP. My builder has said that by 'month 12' of the official 'build completion' they will rectify all the snags - they won't do it sooner, as apparently there will likely be more appearing up until the magical 'month 12'.

I get this, they don't want to be popping out every few weeks to 'snag'...but they are unsightly 🤷‍♀️

For me, 'month 12' is in November - even though I only moved into the house in March, so only another 6 months to wait I guess 🤦‍♀️

Thank you for the reply. Are all yours going to be fixed, or only those that are very visible?
