It's about £200K-worth of work

What would a project manager charge?
And what would s/he do?

If you lived near me I'd do it for you cheap

KatyMac · 05/04/2008 21:41

Sooooo....where do you live?

& would you like a Loooong holiday in Norfolk?

I guess it would depend on how much work you want them to do - i.e do you want them to find the builders and manage all the sub-contractors or have you already sorted that out? Also - do you envisage them being on site full-time? If yes then (in Kent anyway) you'd be looking at 20-40k.

KatyMac · 05/04/2008 21:49

I need him/her to find the sub-contractors, I don't think they would need to be there all the time (would they?)

It's about 16 weeks work (I think)

Scotland and no, unfortunately.

Honestly I have no experience in proect manging nursery type things - in my previous life I was a project manager for a telecoms company - managing the build of mobile masts, although I suppose the principles are the same - manage hairy arse builders by any means possible - usually t or t... tits or teeth

KatyMac · 05/04/2008 21:52

Same - this is going to be a fabulous summer (apparently)

Is Lawrene about right? - If so it won't save me any money

approx 10-12% I think is about the going rate. We got ours for less though

minorityrules · 05/04/2008 21:52

I'm paying mine £2400 per month (4 weekly)

He has sorted everything and it has made it so much easier

KatyMac · 05/04/2008 21:54

So that would be £10,400 - I could afford that - where are you minorityrules? (generally iykwim)

It does depend. DH has often been asked to do it. If you don't think you'll need them there full-time then that should cut your costs down a bit.

geordieminx · 05/04/2008 21:56

How about a graduate? Or someone looking for experience? Although I know you cant afford for someone to fcuk it up.

KatyMac · 05/04/2008 21:57

Is your DH in Norfolk?

I really am getting desparate

Sorry - we live in Kent. Have any neighbours ever had a project manager? Reccommendations are usually the best way and I guess you'll need someone local if you want them to engage the builders for you. What about the people that did you plans? Can they not reccomend someone?
