Can’t cope with the stress of moving!

Please can someone give me some wise words and a hand hold?

Our buyer has been hanging on for months (since October) as our previous purchase fell through. We had an issue on our sale which was resolved about 4 weeks ago but we are waiting for our purchase to be ready to exchange. It was supposed to be last Friday, but there were a couple of enquiries outstanding.

then it was supposed to be today, but our sellers solicitor (they’re chain free) hasn’t moved the file on any further forward this week. So no exchange again today.

our buyer is coming to see our house again tomorrow but I just cannot deal with the stress of it all!!! With the completion date being pushed into June i am worried they’ll pull out.

ah why is this all so awful!

I'm in a similar position, waiting for mysterious reasons to exchange when up to now, our vendors were pushing for a fast exchange and quick move. Now they've gone silent. It's very upsetting!

We've just today talked through the alternatives if the chain collapses - we're going to have to stay put for a few more years. It's frustrating, but we're trying to remain grateful that we have a roof over our heads, etc. It isn't where we want to be, but we can make it work.

I hate the delays when one side is sorted and has been for so long. It means that people are more likely to get cold feet and pull out for no reason.

I think this is what happened to my buyers. They were ready at week 5 whilst my solicitor spent a further 6 weeks arguing over a null point but refused to tell me what it was. In that time my viewers viewed twice more.

Once we finally got to exchange day they walked away as they 'weren't feeling it anymore'

Im back in the game and have a new buyer but I cant help but think if my solicitor had told me what the issue was and let me decide if it was important (it was over a fee that was nullified years previously but the solicitors wanted full indemnities 'just in case') id have told them to crack on and we would have been ready a lot sooner and given the buyers less time to go cold.

I think if they have hung on this long and they know you are getting frustrated they are most likely to hang in there

It will cost them to pull out

A viewing just before exchange is best practise so nothing to be concerned about
