Please help & please be kind,
me and my partner & 2 children with additional needs have lived in our housing association flat for 13 years we where accepted on a management move and where waiting a long time for any property’s to become available cut along story short we decided to expand our areas and we have been offered manor oaks gardens Sheffield there is a slight back story to the house which I won’t go into details as it’s quite a sensitive topic but something happened within the home we had to be made aware of and I think it’s been quite hard to see past however the property is everything we always wanted I have read a lot about this area good but also bad which I know you get what ever you go but we are moving 2.5 hours away from everything we know and all I want it kind honest posts, I have adhd and if I’m honest it’s all quite overwhelming I’m excited to restart but I just want to know is it a safe and friendly street? Thankyou

I don't know that specific road. The area is a bit run down but it is a brilliant location in terms of getting to the city centre and for transport link. I have lived in the city for over 20 years and what I know about the area wouldn't put me off going and looking at the house.

Also. Sheffield is a nice place to live. Sen support isn't great but I don't think it is anywhere. There is a nice parent support group called Sheffield parent carers who are really great for advice. What additional needs do your kids have? There is a new secondary special needs school for autism which is meant to be quite good

Thankyou so much for replying, and Thankyou for the advice it really helps, to be honest my girls are both in mainstream now, my eldest has asd and today is being seen for dyslexia and my youngest has asd, adhd and dyslexia, my daughter was turned down for an EHCP and I didn’t fight it as I always had a feeling we where going to move away and she is in her last few months of primary , there just are not any property’s at all here , we did come and visit last weekend and my girls didn’t want to come home lol I think it’s change but I only want to ask as it’s 2.5 hours away, xxx

Dyslexia is so tough even without the other stuff going on! My son has dyslexia and ADHD. Hope you make the right decision for your family.

I will admit I slightly misread the map and didn't realise that manor oaks rd was so long. I think the end nearer town would be run down but ok but the other bit it a bit too far into the manor for my liking. The manor is really not very safe.
