Chimney stack and breast removal

Hi all. I have a chimney stack and breast on either side of a house - front and rear.

I want to remove the rear one - remove from ground floor, first floor (goes up through a bedroom) and the chimney stack. It will provide more space in the bedrooms.

I think some of this will require a structural engineer.

How much would this cost today?

Thank you.

I had one chimney breast removed but kept the stack and had support put in for it. Think I paid around £3500 - 4000 for this. It was a huge chimney breast!
Which part of the country are you in?
Get a few quotes. The cost of building work is still very high at the moment.

We had a chimney stack removed in a first floor bedroom. Had to have a steel beam put in to support the chimney in the roof. Including having whole room replastered and painted and a new floor put in was about £5k.

Thank you both!
@Tristar15 I'm in London :(

Just remembered, we had to have a structural survey done first to draw up plans which was about £850.

Found the quote. It was £5400 plus Vat! So £6400.
I’d forgotten how much we spent on it!

It does make the room much more useable.
