Neighbour building summerhouse on my boundary

Builders are here right now which I'm already pissed off about. I knew they were building a summerhouse but no idea it was going to be as big. It's the entire width of their garden along my fence. My fence sits on a retaining wall and I'll need to replace the posts at some point soon as they've cracked. I'm wondering if they caused this when they took the trees out.

Do you think I'll have issues with water? It's a pitched roof. It's above my fence height. I'm just wondering about it rotting my fence with bits between their structure and my fence.

I'm really stressed and unwell with chronic illness. It's a beautiful day and I'm hiding indoors.

@Mumteedum I honestly do not know why you have not done something about this before now!! this has been going on since may!

In your first post you didnt know if the concrete posts were cracked because of the roots being removed ? Unless they were massive roots going under the posts then it’s highly unlikely that digging near them has cracked them. Then it your last post you say digging the roots out HAS cracked them ?

i think ( like many ) other people when neighbours build something they don’t like its just a case of coming up with as many excuses as possible why its not right ?

The fence panels just slide out upwards from the concrete posts so there is no problem painting/ changing them.

Put some tall pots in front of the fence to hide it and forget about it.

Because I am unwell and basically tried to just ignore it, and like others have said here, tried to question if it was really an issue or I was just upset with them.

The fence posts have severely cracked over the last few months though and only the ones next to their garden, none of the others. Then they only just added this guttering which now is wedged against my fence last week.

@Mumteedum think you need to contact the council then to get building regs out to see the site!

Well no I can't prove it. But they were mature trees and as my garden sits several feet higher, and they used heavy machinery to get the stumps out against the supporting wall... And because none of my other posts are damaged... only the ones next to their garden where they had work done, it seems likely.

When their guttering is touching the fence, I think it may be an issue sliding the panels out.

People don't have to be annoyed with me here. I'm just after information and support. I'm on my own and very unwell and upset by this. I haven't done anything wrong. I'm trying to be reasonably by getting information and questioning my response here.

No. They did for their extension they just finished. But this wasn't on the plan. It's two rooms.

If it’s closer than 1m to the boundary, it will probably need building regs approval. When we applied, the building had to be made of fireproof materials if it was closer.

@Mumteedum if you own this home then I’m presuming you have house insurance. If so do you have any legal cover with it?

Why did you not contact the council? You’ve been stressing over this since may, exhausting yourself but not getting anywhere. I get you’re over wrought but hand wringing and fussing isn’t helping. You are running on the spot. Your neighbour has clocked you as a doormat.

Follow the process!
