Wanting to turn downstairs loo into small closet instead

Hello

Situation is that me and husband have a small home. The children have the 2 bedrooms we sleep in living room.

We have a downstairs saniflo loo that is next to living room. A previous owner had taken the much needed cupboard space ( lived here alone ) and then made it into a loo with saniflo and tiny sink. We don't use it , it's tiny noisey and stupid.

Would it be safe to rig it up as a walk in closet as we need somewhere to put all our stuff clothes basically so it's all downstairs for us.

I would maybe have to flush the stupid thing occasionally? We can't afford to try and get it ripped out yet. My mum always moans saying a 2nd loo adds value to the home but with it being a tiny maisonette ( it's a up and downstairs kind on the 1st floor ( top floor , nobody above us) bit the 2 loos are literally a small stair case away from each other. We are a family of 4 bit me and kids can't stand the saniflo it flushes while we still sitting on it. And he tiny cfamped nature of the space makes me feel closed in and I find it not relaxing to sit there lol.

Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, it you don't need it and don't use it just cap off the water and take it out. You can remove a loo yourself, it's not hard, just a bit messy. The water inlet pipe for the toilet should have a bit you can turn to stop the water, or if it doesn't you can just cap the pipe. The outlet for the waste will need capping, does saniflow mean it's a pump toilet so the outlet is smaller? Anyhow, just cap it. If it is a pump toilet there might be electrics to deal with too and again you just enclose those to make them safe and turn off the switch if there is one.
Something else to consider, given you've got a water and waste feed there, you could turn it into a mini utility space for washing machine. Depends on the size of the cupboard.

Cupboard is 80cm wide by 115 cm deep

so deeper than it is wide - a wardrobe depth is normally 55-60cm - I like 60cm as it means you don't have think about the size of your hangers. if it's ceiling height inside (ie the height of the room) you could get 2 rails in one above the other, and if you bring the rails forward you could have shelving behind for stuff you don't need to switch out everyday, like off season footwear and handbags. Christmas decorations etc. it could definitely work and if it makes your lives easier then it's well worth it.

Thank you that's really encouraging to start the process of making life easier for us down here.
