There are some beautiful areas of Stoke (the listed bit and a few streets) and it's close to a row of shops but it's very expensive. The rest of Stoke is predominantly student housing. I think it's quite safe but noisy and the school catchment area isn't great.

Earlsdon is fabulous but expensive and mostly on street parking. It has a high street, the schools are good and it's safe.

Allesley Village is gorgeous and fairly expensive. It has some amenities but not a large grocery store but the schools are good and it's very safe.

Coundon has a shopping mall fairly close by but it's not as nice as it was. Chapelfields is the other side of Coundon and is quite nice. I don't know how safe they are but the schools are decent.

Cheylesmore is okay and has a small shopping mall and a grocery store. The school catchment isn't great. I think further into Cheylesmore is a better area.

Both Earlsdon and Allesley Village are sought after and hold their value.

If you'd like me to help please PM me. I could perhaps help with areas?

Hi i was looking to buy a house in CV4 Queen Margarets Road , have been told area is rough and may face issues like paddlers and potential property damage , but the benifit is house is very close to Warwick university and i am planning rent out 2 rooms and keep 1 to myself to support my monthly mortgage and in few years time i can give the whole house on rent and move to another property- so its kind of investment as well - property is also constructed and maintained in a way that it can be rented out - need some
suggestions regarding resale in future

thank you

Hi @SR1199
as you say it is near to the University, (also near to Costco and a big shopping centre with a Tesco)
however it is also on the Canley estate. It’s not the worst area of Coventry by any means but it’s not massively popular either. Sorry I don’t know what paddlers are. I’ve lived all over Coventry and generally feel safe.
Coventry is a very compact city so often the popular areas are in very close proximity to the least popular.
I think the price will probably reflect that the area isn’t sought after despite being so near the Uni. I think you’d get student lodgers/tenants no problems. Check out the car parking - if there is some this may be an added attraction.

Thanks so much for such a quick response. i am still new in this country and buying a house is like putting all your life savings . I do not want to sound rude but i was told this area is surrounded by council homes so the neighbourhood could be rough and troublesome, its a semidetached house and has big driveway and parking space for 4-5 cars + can park 1-2 cars in front of the house on street - by paddlers i meant drug paddlers- to be honest i have not seen that in Coventry . The street itself is not one of the beautiful street but its quiet and i would say its an average street. Wherever i buy house i am sure i will need to keep at-least 2 tenants but i really do not want to compensate on surroundings. And ofcourse property should have future appreciation

We are planning move near binley woods as few of my colleagues have recommended it's a lovely village. As I am also new to Coventry, just curious to know how is it live in binley woods, specifically around court leet and rowan close?

Canley is close to the university so you may get students. But parts of Canley are not that nice. Also the universities are investing in their own accommodation now so there may be less students. If you would like students you might be better approaching agencies that actively target overseas students.

I nearly bought a home in Binley Woods! It's gorgeous. Very leafy and quiet with some amenities. If you drive towards the city there are groceries stores and you are close to the A45 to get to other areas.
