Hi we have completed an extension, 300mm from the boundary fence we had to remove the fence, but the neighbour does not want the fence put back! i dont mind doing this but what steps should i take to retain my 300mm for the future?

I’d be putting the fence back up. My parents have had trouble with this from when the neighbour sold the house and new people moved in.

Whose fence is it? If it's yours then put it back. If it's theirs then don't, but make sure you put something else back up to show where the boundary is.

You will have to find a very skinny fencer or else have access to your neighbours garden to install a fence now.

You need a fence or you are sowing seeds for a future boundary dispute. Agree access with neighbour, and use concrete slotting posts, concrete gravel boards, and wooden panels. This is so the panels are removable in the future (by lifting out) so you can access the side of your property for maintenance.
