Blind solution for bifold

Hi Wise and Stylish MNers

We have 'fake crittall' bifold doors in our extension which is S/W facing. We got through last summer but the glare was sometimes too much. I HATE the idea of spoiling our cool looking doors which are fitted into exposed bricks blah blah blah, with blinds, but needs must!

Doors go right up to the ceiling so no idea what we can do that won't look awful - especially when blinds are not down.

Has anyone found a stylish solution that doesn't cost four million squid? Open to manual or electric. And if you can recommend a company - so much the better

Thank you!

Id get some perfect fit blinds from blinds2go. Just order some for some other windows. You slide brackets into the beading of the windows and attach the frame to the brackets.

Looks like they've got quite a range specific for bifold https://www.blinds-2go.co.uk/bifold-door-blinds

You have to wait a couple weeks for delivery but I haven't found them very expensive and they're made to measure and you can fit yourself, so works out a lot cheaper than having a company come out to measure and fit, you can pay about £10 if you're worried about your measurements, they'll send out another one the correct size then for free if you mess up first time

We got click fit blinds from blinds to go for ours, the honeycomb design is aimed at blocking heat as well.

Thx for sharing. Did you go for the thermal (aluminium lined) honeycomb or the non-aluminium ones? I am tempted to go non-aluminium as slightly cheaper and lets some filtered light through but wondered if they were effective for insulation from the heat / cold? Also, are the blinds easy to open/close given there is no handle tab unlike Duette/Luxaflex?

Grateful for your thoughts. Thank you.

We have intu blinds as they do ones suitable for aluminium bi-folds - the perfect fit type ones were too deep for our slim frames. I didn't really want something that blocked the view, would have preferred something that could be angled to prevent glare but still allow you to see out. However I don't mind them, they still let light through even if you can't see the garden.

@GenSurf We have standard honeycomb and they are still effective at keeping the heat in during the winter and out during the summer. Ours just have a sort of lip at the bottom to raise/lower them and it's fine.

Thanks so much. Really helpful as my other half wanted aluminium and I didn't :-)
