I’m planning to DIY tile the main bathroom. I have another bathroom and separate toilet to do so happy to invest in the right kit. We’re fairly seasoned DIYers.
The shower is 1m wide each side of a corner up to ceiling, replacing the same area of tiling currently in place, plus new tray & enclosure with exposed shower. Bath wall is flat with no pipes. I’ll tile 1m high by 2.5m long. Tiles are 60x30cm. Grid layout 2mm grout lines. Flat metal trim.
The Floor is approx 8m2 rectangle minus the shower tray. Tiles 60x15cm. Brick style layout. 3mm grout lines. Painted skirting on the non tiled walls will cover the edges.
I’ll also do a basin splash back.
Tiles are going over where there are existing tiles, which will be removed along with old adhesive. They’ll go onto the plasterboard on the walls and I’ll use a decoupling mat on the floor (green particle boards below). This is how the professionals did our last bathroom.
I’ve got tiles, trims, grout and adhesive, plus buckets, spirit level, measuring tapes, bits of wood for levelling etc.
Am I missing anything from the list below? Is there anything here that’s unnecessary?
