Ideas for welcome pack - moving into rental property

What things do you think would make a nice moving-in gift for the new tenants? I thought, bottle of bubbly in the fridge, milk, and a basket with biscuits, nice coffee, tea bags. Any other ideas? Thanks for any thoughts.

Also putting together a folder including all the manuals, bin day information etc. So any ideas here too very welcome!

I usually just leave a bottle of waitrose Veneto Prosecco on the countertop because appliances should be off. On their moving in day I email them with a welcome, hope you're happy, let me know if there any issues, and include bin days, cycle storage, appliances quirks, local info etc.

I would think a bottle of wine and a sparkling house or flat would be very well-received; anything more would seem like the welcome basket in a holiday rental. The bin day stuff would be very useful.

Thanks v much, as we live locally I can switch the fridge on before they arrive, but I like the idea of the email welcome.

Put the deposit in a protection scheme and make sure the flat is clean and the appliances work. If you do that, you are doing better than most landlords. Unless this is an Airbnb, a welcome pack really isn’t necessary.

Also - you are not going to see those manuals again, IME. Or any of your window keys, or the bin lid, or any number of small but hard-to-replace items that will walk before they give the keys back. Just prepare yourself for them not treating the house as carefully as you would.

Thanks v much for the advice. We've got the agent dealing with the deposit (a no-deposit scheme but we'll protect the accrued funds). Good advice about the manuals and window keys - I'll get copies!
