Missing electrics certificate

We're in the process of moving house and our buyers solicitors want a certificate for when the electric circuit board was changed in 2017. The problem is I have the NAPIT notification on email but can't find any certificates. We've been told to go back to our electrician but his email address isn't valid and it looks like the company doesn't exist anymore.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? I'm wondering if we'll have to pay for indemnity insurance or whether we'd get an electrician to verify it alls ok?

You can get an ECR (Electrical Condition Report) from an electrical firm at a cost of about £200. As sellers, note that you are not obliged to provide this - the buyers should request and pay for any checks they feel are necessary. But if it will help speed things along it may be worth doing.

Might not even cost that much. We’re in the south east and just paid £90 inc VAT for an EICR

Thanks both that's helpful to know. We did manage to get the part P certificate from the NAP IT website for free which at least shows the work was carried out by a certified person. Fingers crossed this is enough but if not we'll look at the EICR.
