Possibility of offering on this house with existing planning permission to replace conservatory with internal infill. But confused as to why they havent made the kitchen/new infill are fully open plan n the designs? Is it just a steel beam needed to allow for this or could it be something else meaning it may never be possible? thanks

It looks similar to the layout of my house and we did what you are saying so I don’t see why you couldn’t. It’s a big steel so not exactly cheap but very doable and I’ve seen it in lots of other houses too. Some people like a separate dining room?! Not me but maybe that is the reason….

Might be building regs for amount of glass.
Iirc, conservatories need to be closed off for thermal loss reasons. If it's truly a conservatory, it might be harder than you think.

Or, that layout might have suited the household that put it in!

Everything is possible with enough time and money. It is likely that the pillars are supporting something, but it is always possible to change things.

My guess as to why they didn't would be because of some planning rule or other. They just wanted a set of plans to increase the value of the house.
