Orangery detached from home?

I’ve been looking at what to do with an awkward corner of our garden. Currently it’s a hot tub area that came with the house. We’ve been here 8 years and the novelty has worn off and I tend to get itchy hands after using it so it’s rarely used now. I’ve been thinking about creating a room with space for a pool table (something dh and I enjoy). But wooden cabins tend to look quite shed like so I was wondering if an orangery would be an option. I’m assuming we’d need planning permission. Anyone got any great ideas or things we should consider?

You can get some fantastic greenhouses that look like an orangery, and since they are a 'temporary' structure and/or an agricultural building you wouldn't need planning permission I don't think.

Lots of outbuildings can be built under permitted development, and not require full PP. However, sheds, green houses etc can require PP depending on the size, location etc. Have a look here:

I know you said about wooden rooms looking like sheds, but honestly there are some lovely designs now.we are getting one in our garden made from narrow composite.

& getting cooler - that does look like a good option.
