Does it ever work?

I live in a semi detached house that I own and the soundproofing is aweful, I can hear cough, sneezes, a tap being turned on etc. My living room wall is connected directly to theirs if you get what I mean by a party wall.

I was thinking of paying for soundproofing like - Soundproofing Store-Professional Soundproofing Solutions.

Has anyone ever fitted soundproofing in any way and does it actually work or is it useless?

We had it done and it is great for dealing with day to day noises, which is what we wanted it for. It won't block out a rave thoughm

Ok thanks, does it block neighbours shouting at each other when having arguments, door slamming or loud tv?

Doors slamming, loud TV, flushing toilets, conversations, shouting matches etc - yes. Especially their most expensive one (although that really is expensive, it's about £80 per square metre including VAT)

However, if they have huge loud speakers and turn them up to 11 then you're still going to hear something.

I have heard that their cheaper systems are also very good as well.

You would need to decouple the room by building a room within a room. Using soundproofing isn’t adequate and is sold as something it is not. To achieve proper sound proofing you need to create a gap between next doors wall and the room within your current room.
