What to check in the first seven days after purchase?

It's a long story, but we've just bought a house from people who, it's become clear in the last stretch, are pretty dodgy (not criminal, just wide-os who have done some dubious DIY and tried to scam us on extras). I don't trust them and I'm trying to get everything checked over before the seven-day period is up and it's too late to raise any claims against them. I've had gas engineers in (boiler needs replaced, they have deliberately loosened a pipe to make it work which has leaked everywhere) and electrician. Is there anything else I should get a professional to look at in the next four days? There was a survey done so I'm assuming things like the roof and communal areas are covered? What faults or problems have you discovered that you didn't know about when you bought a house?

You're very unlikely to be able to claim against them for any of that unless they gave you specific warranties about it.

Check your survey for what's covered but to claim against the surveyor you need to show they were negligent. Surveys don't usually cover things like boilers and electrics.

Sorry not to be more positive.

(Think it might be different in Scotland though.)

Yeah, I'm in Scotland.
It wouldn't be a claim against the survey but the seller.

Definitely get an actual roofer up there vs the surveyor who probably did a quick check or drone check.

A quick drain survey?
All the taps/ showers etc etc

You can buy a cheap humidity meter to see if you've got damp anywhere?

Take off kickboards and check behind in kitchen?
