Which survey for bungalows loft conversion?

fHad our offer acepted on bungalow. Loftconversion done 20+ years ago. Looks in decent condition but as 1930s think survey sensible. Which one should we choose?
Know there will be cosmetic stuff to deal with; want to know if all good with loft conversion. How is this checked? There seemed to be a panel on one of the walls which EA said was inspection hatch. Will surveyor actually try to open that up and crawl around the edges of the loft conversion?! There's building regs for loft conversion but guess standards have changed over the years.
Any advice please?

As a surveyor I would open any hatches available to me and view what I could see by putting my head through it, whether that be from the top of a step ladder or not. I would not be crawling anywhere for H&S/ risk reasons. If the conversion has a building control certificate then you can be fairly certain it was built to the correct standards at the time. A surveyor will look to identify any issues in the same way as they would any roof/extension/conversion or any part of the property.

Thanks for the reply ( from a real surveyor 😀) May I ask another question? 'My' bungalow is 1930s. Roof looks old but solid. How will you assess whether there are issues without climbing onto it?

I will put my head and shoulders into the loft space and inspect what I can see with a torch, if it is boarded I will go into it. I will inspect externally to see if I can identify any sagging or distortion of the roof that may suggest a structural issue.
