Laying amtico floor yourself?

Anyone laid their own amtico floor tiles? My fil did so a few years ago but we’ve been looking and it doesn’t seem possible to buy the tiles - have to have them fitted by the supplier…or are we just not looking in the right place?

(Tiny bathroom so we don’t need many!)

There are always plenty on ebay

Are you confident with how to scree the floor? That's probably the hardest bit.

Thanks for replying. Tbh I haven’t got a clue but DP seems to understand the practicalities. He was just surprised how hard it seems to be to source the tiles if you don’t want the supplier to also lay them. We just thought it would be a way of keeping costs down.

Does it have to be amtico? There are lots of other options inc karndean available online.

Vinyl click will be easier to DIY rather than gluedown and there are options from karndean, quickstep, Moduleo etc. your subfloor needs to be reasonably smooth but it does have an underlay attached for minor imperfections

Thanks for the tips. We have looked at Karndean will have a look at the others you suggest.

I've got Quickstep in my kitchen, it's great!

Flooringsupplies.co.uk have lots, you can filter by gluedown or click LVT

We got some samples from them, but ended up getting the local flooring fitters to do it for us
